John Amato Jr. assists in litigating a wide variety of general liability claims from inception of suit to trial. His work includes drafting pleadings and motions, assisting on depositions, performing legal research, attending hearings, and preparing for trial. John also assists with providing guidance to insurers on liability and exposure risk, under governing risk policies, while strategizing for the optimal and efficient resolution of legal disputes.
While in law school, John worked at a managing general insurance agency that focused on writing Representation & Warranty policies for M&A transactions. He also worked at a boutique commercial litigation firm, where he gained experience drafting legal memoranda on diverse legal topics ranging from bankruptcy to intellectual property. In connection with being recognized as a Court of Appeals Fellow, he served as a summer clerk for the Honorable Eileen Bransten of the New York Supreme Court, Commercial Division, New York County.
Before pursuing a career in law, John put his dual undergraduate degree in political science and television, radio and film to good use in a variety of production, talent management and business roles within the entertainment industry, including with a renowned global advertising and consulting agency.
