Suffolk County Prosecutors Will Not Retry Tankleff
January 4, 2008

In 1990, Martin Tankleff was convicted of murdering his parents, Arlene and Seymour Tankleff. This conviction was recently reversed and a new trial granted after the Appellate Division was confronted with new evidence that implicated the former business partner of the late Mr. Tankleff. The Suffolk County District Attorney will seek to dismiss all charges against Mr. Tankleff and will ask Governor Spitzer to appoint a special prosecutor to reinvestigate this case.
