Professional Experience
Jean S. Scanlan litigates general liability actions, including personal injury and property damage cases, premises liability and construction defect claims, and trucking accidents. Her work includes all aspects of these cases, including fact analysis and investigation, drafting pleadings and motions, attending depositions, performing legal research, attending hearings, arbitrations, and mediations, and preparing for trial.
In May 2021, Jean joined WCM as a summer associate and continued to work with the firm throughout her final year of law school.
Jean received her J.D. from Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law. While in law school, Jean was a judicial intern for the Honorable Denis P. Cohen, Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas.
In her final year of law school, Jean worked in the Villanova Civil Justice Clinic where she provided pro bono legal services to low-income clients in the Philadelphia Area. She represented clients who were involved in a variety of civil disputes involving family law and housing. Jean represented clients in Philadelphia Family Court and Delaware County Family court in Custody and Child Support Disputes. Jean argued a landlord/tenant despite in the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas.
