Laura Mendez is an Associate in WCM’s New York office, where she represents clients in insurance coverage, defense, general liability, and products liability matters. Her experience in the world of legal defense includes conducting legal research and analysis, drafting memoranda of law and subpoenas, attending and cross-examining witnesses in depositions, representing clients in court proceedings, filing motions and submissions, appearing at compliance conferences and hearings, and preparing for client meetings.

Prior to joining WCM, Laura worked at a defense firm, where she represented companies and insurers in toxic tort, product liability, and asbestos litigation, as well as representing New York State counties in matters involving the Child Victims Act. Additionally, Laura has extensive defense experience representing parents against allegations of abuse and neglect brought by the New York City Administration for Children’s Services, both in and outside of Family Court in Queens and Staten Island.
